From the Artist: This self-portrait painting represents embracing who I am. As a Korean living in the United States I'm constantly transforming with the circumstances I face. The choice of color palette represents my home country, South Korea. The red drapes manifest protection and acceptance of myself out of my homeland. I'm watching a mindeulle, which translates to dandelion in Korean, and its seeds taking off to achieve new hopes and dreams.
